ChoiceFoundry ("we", "us", "our") is an Australian online business strategy and audit service. We respect your privacy and are committed to handling personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), to the extent they apply to us.
1. Information we collect
We may collect the following kinds of personal information:
- Contact details — your name, email address and, if you choose to provide it, a business name or website.
- Business information you provide for an audit — details about your online business or accounts, current stage, goals, offers, audience, marketing channels and results. Where it materially improves the assessment, we may also ask for relevant business financial evidence (such as revenue, sales, pricing, costs or margins, and marketing spend). Approximate figures or ranges are fine where exact amounts are not necessary. Please only share information that is relevant to the assessment and avoid sharing sensitive information about third parties.
- Transaction information — records of the services you purchase. Payments are processed by a third-party payment provider; we do not store your full card details.
- Correspondence — emails and messages you send to us.
- Technical information — limited, largely non-identifying data such as browser type, device and pages visited, collected through standard website hosting logs or analytics if enabled.
Please do not send us passwords, payment-card or bank login details, personal bank balances, Tax File Numbers or other government identifiers, or unrelated sensitive personal information. We do not need or want them, and no part of the Business Check or audit intake will ever ask for them.
2. How we collect it
We collect personal information directly from you when you contact us, complete an intake questionnaire, purchase an audit, or otherwise interact with our website. We may also review publicly available information about your online presence (for example, your public website or social media profiles) as part of preparing your audit.
3. Why we collect and use it
- To assess your business and prepare and deliver your Online Business Audit and related materials.
- To communicate with you about your enquiry or purchase.
- To process payments and maintain business and tax records.
- To improve our services and website.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information. We will not send you marketing emails unless you have opted in, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
4. Disclosure to third parties
We may share personal information with service providers who help us run our business, such as payment processors, email and hosting providers, and productivity or document tools. We may also use AI-enabled tools to help analyse the business information you provide and prepare your audit materials; those tools are operated by service providers under their own security and privacy arrangements. These providers may store data outside Australia (for example in the United States or the European Union). We take reasonable steps to use reputable providers with appropriate security practices. We may also disclose information where required by law.
5. Storage and security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. We retain information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described above or as required by law (for example, financial records are generally kept for at least five years). When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete it or de-identify it. You may also ask us to delete your information at any time using the contact details below, and we will do so unless we are required to keep it.
6. Cookies and analytics
Our website may use essential cookies required for it to function and, if enabled, privacy-respecting analytics to understand how the site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
7. Access, correction and complaints
You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you by emailing hello@thechoicefoundry.com. If you have a concern about how we have handled your information, please contact us first and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
